Elias Nagol

Elias Nagol is a professional in environmental management, community engagement, land use planning, geographic information systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing. He has worked extensively to promote sustainable solutions for the planet where system-based rangelands management ensures equitable development for peoples and biodiversity. He has trained in four different countries (Tanzania, France, Australia, and the Netherlands) and worked with multidisciplinary institutions (Wageningen University, Ardhi University, the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Maasai Women Development Organization (MWEDO), Community Research and Development Services (CORDS), the French Institute for Research in Africa (IFRA) and the Tanzania Forest Conservation Group (TFCG)).

 

Elias has experience across diverse professional environments and interests from geospatial sciences on agroecology to natural resources management and land use planning for improved rural livelihoods. Currently pursuing a PhD, the topic of his dissertation is: “Precision Agriculture in Tanzania: Towards a better understanding of spatial variability of input response to reduce farmer’s risk.” Elias joined TEST in 2019 bringing passion and a commitment to ecosystem governance and inclusive conservation.
